Sudden Change Of Plans

Dear Family & Friends,

After countless of phone calls and confusing responses from our insurance, this morning they confirmed that they will NOT cover Gary’s surgery here in the USA. They gave us the option to fly Gary back to Canada with a medical escort, which is what we have decided to do. Alayna and I will be flying with Gary. One of the winter volunteers here will be taking our car back to Alberta.
We will be flying out of McAllen Texas, Thursday at 9am and arriving in Calgary at 4:30pm. Gary will be taken straight to Calgary Foothills for assessments and further treatment.
To say that we are disappointed would be an under statement. We are going to a place that is suppose to be ‘home’ with nothing but our clothes. At this point we need to figure out accommodations and everything else that I can’t think of right now.
This morning I sat down to spend some time with God, and I had nothing. I sat in silence for half an hour. I was at peace though, because I knew that although I couldn’t utter a word, so many of you are doing that for us. All of your support has been phenomenal, your prayers are carrying us. We say that over and over, because there truly is no other explanation. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
We will try to keep you updated as we know more.
In HIM,
Gary & Eva Cool
Isaiah 41:10‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

  1. Gary and Eva, our thoughts and prayers are with you, especially during this difficult time. We pray that things will work out quickly as you plan on going back to Calgary into the “unknown” We can’t imagine that it is a very easy time for you, especially since there were so many things you were doing, doing for God I might add. Our plans are not His, and He already knew before you set out on this journey what was going to happen. I pray that you will continue to trust Him, just as you did with your mission journey. May you find comfort in Him, and peace thru Him in whatever comes your way. We pray that the surgery will be a success and Gary will recover quickly. Eva may you be your families rock during this time, but only by leaning on our everlasting Father. God be with you, and God go with you, and may you find joy in the dark times you are facing. God Bless you all!
