The momma in me

Image

The last couple  of weeks I’ve been ‘missing the momma in me.’ I see all these post and blogs about my friends who are stay at home moms and spend their days with their little ones. They cook things, sew things, bake things and do things like take their munchkins to places, teach them things ect. Then they share their ‘peaceful perfect’ life on fb and blogs. Haha, no, I can look through the FB life and know that it’s not all sunshine and roses but none the less it’s the ‘stay at home mommy life’ that most of them probably wouldn’t change for anything.

I guess I can’t really say that I miss it because I once had it. Although I was home with Alayna for the first year of her life, I didn’t have the normal ‘stay at home mommy duties.’ I got to move to a different province when she was 2 weeks old and start the process of building our support team. If you’ve never done it, it’d be hard to understand. If you’ve done it, you’d know that it’s ALL encompassing. Gary worked full-time and it needed to get done.

Although I don’t think of myself as the “stay at home mommy until my children go off to college” type (yes there is a type:), I’m more the, “there are great people out there who can positively impact my child for four mornings a week” type. Sometimes when my day is so full of non mommy things I dream of what I’d do as a stay at home mommy:

  • Fill my house with children that need lovin (didn’t say anything about having more myself;).
  • Food make over to all natural eating.
  • Sew, sew, sew and sew some more.
  • Make all natural cleaners and everything else I use (huge passion of my, so little time to dig deep into this, yes in todays world being a natural mom is a full-time job).
  • Ect. ect. ect.

I know all you stay at home moms are laughing at me because your thinking, I’m a stay a home mom and don’t have time for any of that. But hey, a girl can dream right?!

So to all you stay at home momma’s out there, when things are tough, remember, this momma/language student/missionary encourages you to enjoy THE MOMMA IN YOU!

Until next time,

Eva
